Two sisters, one atelier in Barzulla
The Boutique by Anam & Ansa Sheikh began with a simple belief: that Kashmir’s embroidery traditions belong in today’s wardrobes, not just in memory. Every pheran, suit and kaftan here is cut and embroidered by hand with local artisans — Tilla, Sozni and Aari work that takes days, sometimes weeks, for a single piece.

The Craft in Every Thread
Tilla Dozi
Gold and silver metallic thread couched by hand — the signature of Kashmiri bridal pherans for over 500 years.
Sozni
Fine needlepoint embroidery worked in silk thread, so delicate both sides of the fabric look finished.
Aari
Hook embroidery that fills fabric with flowing chains of blossoms and vines, stitch by tiny stitch.
